IPD Manages $800,000 Auto Parts Inventory in Real Time with Morse Data's InOrder ERP Software
Dover, NH, Feb 28, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) --
Morse Data Corporation, developers of InOrder Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, has published its latest case study, "IPD Looks to InOrder to Help Manage $800,000 Auto Parts Inventory." The case study can be downloaded from the Morse Data website at http://www.getinorder.com/pdf/BrochuresCaseStudies/CaseStudy_IPD.pdf.
The case study outlines how IPD, a Portland, Oregon-based Volvo auto parts retailer, needed to upgrade its legacy DOS-like system to an ERP system that would allow it to process credit cards and track inventory in real time. The company, which has been in business since 1963, manages an extensive parts, accessories, and performance products inventory totaling over $800,000. The company sells directly to Volvo owners and enthusiasts the world over. Using InOrder APIs, IPD was able to integrate its website / Web cart with InOrder's CRM and inventory modules. IPD customers can open accounts on the website and view previous and current order history. All new accounts and orders are passed directly to InOrder in real time; this information is immediately available to IPD customer service agents. In addition, the case study outlines how IPD was able to migrate years of customer history and data during implementation - with all customer history available to IPD agents at Go Live.
"IPD originally looked at one of the larger ERP software companies but believed they were too small an account for the company," says Tony Marchese, Vice President for Morse Data. "They turned to F. Curtis Barry and Company, software consultants, who gave them a short list of ERP software vendors, a list which included Morse Data. We're thrilled that respected consultants such as F. Curtis Barry have trust in Morse Data and refer us to companies like IPD who need an ERP system built specifically for mid-sized online retailers, multi-channel merchants, fulfillment solution providers, and publishers. We proudly welcome them to Morse Data's growing family."
