Mimvi, Inc., a pure-play mobile search technology company, announced that it filed a provisional patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on January 21.
According to a release, U.S. Patent Application 61754993, entitled "Software Application Recommendation & Analysis System for Mobile & Simplified Computing Devices", opens up new dimensions in search and recommendation technology (Advanced SRT) for the purpose of expanding mobile app adoption and monetization.
The new capability resulted from Mimvi's research and development focused on improving its search and recommendation engine. Advanced SRT, as stated in the patent, provides a method of analyzing simplified computing devices including mobile devices, Smart TV and other mobile software applications based on software code-level context which may either apply incrementally to a larger database, or for a single set of applications, and incorporating independent scanning modules for analysis, the Company said.
Advanced SRT was developed by Kasian Franks, Mimvi's Chief Visionary Officer, together with other lead scientists working with the Mimvi engineering team. The technology offers great potential in providing consumers with the means to discover mobile applications, products and services with personalization. For enterprise customers and other Mimvi developers and consumers, it offers new ways to expand the dimension of available mobile apps.
Kasian Franks said: "Mimvi prides itself on real innovation when it comes to advanced algorithmic search and personalized recommendation technology. Our goal is to develop technology that benefits consumers, customers and developers in new and unique ways that advances consumer satisfaction and increases transactional revenue."
