Dec 19, 2012 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --
BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3909 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3872 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2053 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Tuesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE), BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI), AT&T Inc (NYSE:T), Genworth Financial Inc (NYSE:GNW), MICROSOFT CORPORATION (NASDAQ:MSFT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
PFE $0.280 1.08% 12,802,832 38.89% 8,599,536 26.12% 4,203,296 150,118
BAC $0.300 2.73% 94,645,126 37.39% 90,320,765 35.68% 4,324,361 144,145
SIRI $0.050 1.71% 47,180,488 52.87% 41,893,280 46.95% 5,287,208 1,057,442
T $0.050 0.15% 10,666,199 39.46% 5,923,741 21.92% 4,742,458 948,492
GNW $0.230 3.23% 9,521,772 55.98% 4,152,288 24.41% 5,369,484 233,456
MSFT $0.460 1.68% 26,384,489 52.39% 22,049,127 43.78% 4,335,362 94,247
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows PFE with a Net Buy Volume of 4,203,296 shares and a Friction Factor of 150,118 shares. That means that it takes 150,118 more shares of buying than selling to move PFE higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Tuesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
