IBM Unveils Mobile, Management and Storage Components for PureFlex and Flex System Portfolios

The IBM (News - Alert) PureData System is created by the company exclusively to analyze big data in the cloud and provide actionable insights to its enterprise. The company also reduces expenses and speeds up innovation. It is sold in models that are enhanced for either transactional or analytic workloads. PureData System for Transactions is a combined, optimized, ready-to-run database platform created and tuned exclusively for transactional data workloads.
Recently, the company introduced new mobile, management and storage components for its PureFlex and Flex System portfolios. Among these components the company has provided a new storage system to assist users in improving storage usage as much as 30 percent and also provides extraordinary ease of use.
This storage system is mainly combined with IBM Flex System Manager and makes use of IBM Storwize family virtualization and unique IBM Real-time Compression technologies. According to IBM, this helps clients in decreasing storage needs by up to 80 percent. As a result, users can run their most important workloads without any application performance degradation.
“Clients are telling us that when they look to upgrade the legacy servers and storage that constitute their current IT infrastructures they don't want to spend too much time and effort tuning and managing the new systems," said Andrew Monshaw, GM IBM PureFlex. "These are the companies that are turning to PureSystems to reduce their costs and increase their datacenter utilization.”
Recently, the company partnered with ValeCard to announce the first PureSystems project in Brazil. ValeCard will utilize the new PureFlex system to channelize its datacenter operations and record keeping. It’s a GRUPO CEPHAS company spanning various industry sectors including finance, agriculture, real estate and healthcare. To processes the data to an online portal for their clients use, it receives updated geographic locations of all vehicles in its database every 30 seconds.
